Removable Denture
A removable denture is a dental prosthesis designed to replace some or all missing teeth and the adjacent gum tissue and can be taken out and reinserted by the wearer. Partial removable dentures attach to remaining natural teeth or rest on the gums to replace a few teeth, while complete (full) removable dentures replace an entire arch; common materials include acrylic resin, sometimes combined with metal frameworks to improve strength and fit.
Removable dentures can restore chewing ability, speech and facial appearance but typically require an adaptation period and ongoing care such as daily cleaning, safe overnight storage and occasional relining or repairs as the mouth changes. They are a non‑surgical option for tooth replacement, though alternatives such as implant-supported solutions may be considered when greater stability or long-term retention is needed.
