Intraoral Camera
An intraoral camera is a compact, hand-held device that captures high-resolution images of the inside of the mouth. The camera is placed inside the mouth to provide magnified, real-time views of tooth surfaces, restorations, cracks, early decay and soft tissues, helping clinicians see details that can be difficult to detect with the naked eye.
Images from an intraoral camera aid diagnosis, treatment planning and patient education by making oral issues visible and easier to explain, and they form part of clinical records for monitoring changes over time. The procedure is quick and non-invasive, and while it complements other diagnostic tools such as dental X-rays or intraoral scanners, it does not replace radiographs for assessing bone or deep tooth problems.
