Nanohybrid Composite
Nanohybrid composite is a resin-based restorative material used to repair and restore teeth with tooth-coloured fillings. It combines very small (nano) filler particles with slightly larger microhybrid particles to achieve a balance of strength, wear resistance and polishability, allowing restorations to mimic the translucency and surface texture of natural enamel.
In clinical use, nanohybrid composites are bonded to the prepared tooth with an adhesive and cured with a visible light source; they are suitable for both front and back teeth where aesthetics and function are required. Proper layering, finishing and polishing influence longevity and appearance, and patients should maintain good oral hygiene and avoid excessive biting forces to help restorations last, while minor staining or wear can sometimes require repair or replacement over time.
